Sports Manual Therapy · New York City

I treat why it keeps tightening, not only where.

I'm a licensed massage therapist with 12+ years of hands-on work with athletes and everyday people in pain. I combine manual therapy with nervous-system-based assessment and drills, so each session shows whether range, balance or pain changed.

Navjeet Jammu, sports manual therapist

The approach

The body runs on four systems most treatment never checks.

A muscle that keeps tightening is often guarding. Your brain decides how much tension and pain to produce from what these four systems report. When one of them is giving unclear information, the body protects itself. I assess all four alongside the tissue.

Eyes

Vision leads movement. How the eyes track and focus affects neck tension, posture and reaction.

Inner ear

The balance system tells the brain where the head is in space. It sets the base for stability and coordination.

Body sense

Joints, skin and muscle report position and load. Clearer signals from an area usually mean freer movement there.

Breath

Breathing sets the tone of the whole nervous system. I use breathwork to help athletes settle, focus and find flow.

Every session follows the same three steps.

  1. Test

Measure something that matters to you first: a range of motion, a balance task, a pain score.

  2. Treat

Hands-on work plus a short drill aimed at the system that looks like the limiter.

  3. Retest

Repeat the same test. If it changed, we keep it. If it didn't, we try something else.

Book a session

I come to you.

Sessions happen at your home, gym, office or hotel in the New York City area. I bring the table. You don't need to be an athlete: most people I see want to get out of pain, loosen something that keeps coming back, or move better.

Book by text. Text your name, your area and two or three times that suit you. I'll reply to confirm.

What to expect

Wear or bring shorts and a top you can move in. I need a space about the size of a yoga mat plus the table.

Changes and cancellations

Please give 24 hours' notice if you need to move or cancel a session.

When to see a doctor first

New numbness, weakness, unexplained swelling, or pain after a fall or accident should be checked medically before we work together.
